Episode #8 - More podsafe tunes from the Podsafe Music Network

February 3rd, 2006

Today, I make a brief plug for the online petition to get Google to rethink their strategy of using visual verification to keep spammers from getting into their value added services like gmail, blogger, etc. For more information concerning these issues and how they affect blind people, surf on over to the Blind Access Journal and subscribe to his podcast while you’re there.
I also play some more podsafe tunes from the Podsafe Music Network and include a rare surprise at the end of the show.
I played the following songs:

  1. Amplifico - Home Made Hurricanes
  2. Alice Marie - I was Seven
  3. Alice Marie - Lipstick Diaries
  4. Allison Crow - Crayon
  5. Allison Crow - Lisa’s Song
  6. Alison Crow - Disease
  7. Lesley Gore - You Don’t Own Me

Episode #7 - Podsafe music from Scottland

January 20th, 2006

This is a little shorter today. I squeezed this in around some other technical issues I was dealing with today. I want to offer some Scottish music today to complement a good podcast I listen to a lot called Hart and Music Radio. They are doing a two week feature on Celtic music so I thought I would add to the noise a bit.
I played the following songs:

  • Amplifico - All Your Sins
  • Amplifico - 10P Mix
  • Amplifico - Spitting Out Benchmarks

Episode #6 - My First Experience as a Podsafe DJ

December 10th, 2005

I’m finding the Podsafe Music
Network
to be so rich with content, I’m trying a new format where I
mostly play podsafe music and talk less. Hey, it’s almost easier doing
this because I don’t have to come upwith so much original content this
way:).
I played the following songs:

  • A Little Space - Box of Love
  • Alamantra - Surf Babe
  • Alamantra - Old Trixters Last Grand Parade
  • Alice Marie - Bring the Guitar
  • Alice Marie - Madelein

Testing a Post Via E-mail

November 9th, 2005

WordPress has a feature where you can post blog entries via direct
e-mail. This post is to see if that feature works. If you see this,
then it obviously worked.

If you’re curious how blind people use Linux systems, take a ride over
to www.linux-speakup.org
where you can learn about the kernel patch that makes Linux talk from
the very first boot up messages until the final shutdown message. It
really rocks.

Show #5 - Fun with the Podsafe Music Network

October 28th, 2005

The Podsafe Music Network is an exciting resource where us podcasters can find some good music to legally play without hassles from the greedy record companies. I as a blind person, ran into some hoops to jump through while navigating the web site so I want to share them with any other blind users out there and it also sheds some light to anyone else who just might be curious how us blind people do the web and other computer activities with general ease. As you listen here to the show, you will notice some accessibility challanges that we as blind people often run into as well. We also play a “Podsafe” tune and the link is below.

Show #4 - Replacing a CPU Fan

September 16th, 2005

In today’s show #4, I record the session during which I take a noisy grinding CPU fan out of one of my computers here and install a new one. It turns out to be one of the easiest things I could do to a computer’s hardware.

Hurricane Relief

September 2nd, 2005

In this short episode, I join the many other podcasters out there in asking you to give to relief organizations of your choice to help those devistated in the hurricanes. Here’s a couple to choose from:
The American Red Cross
The Salvation Army

First Post

Well, I am rebuilding the blog space here. It seems that B2 Evolutions had problems with hogging resources with MySQL so am trying Word Press now. Listen to my first episode of my podcast. I plan to add back the other show episodes shortly.
